Fictional family history
Consul Minerva
The House of Minerva is said to have originated in a lively port city of the 13th century. There, Lucius Minerva, the son of an esteemed merchant family, was elected consul by the guilds and sailors. His duties included sealing treaties, settling disputes, and representing the city to foreign merchants. Lucius gained trust because he opened every session with the same question: What solution will benefit everyone tomorrow?
Under his leadership, the harbor received a new pier, a public scale, and a small house for stranded sailors. His wife Serena kept the family records and established trade relations with clothmakers, salt merchants, and spice traders. From this combination of order and openness to the world, the Minerva coat of arms emerged: a golden eagle above a blue gate.
In the following century, her grandson Marcellus made a name for himself as an envoy. He traveled between coastal cities, providing safe guides and bringing back books, maps, and new methods of calculation. Her sister Livia founded a school for the children of artisans and merchants. This increased the influence of the family without losing their connection to urban life.
As political offices changed later, „Consul Minerva“ remained an honorable surname. The descendants worked as notaries, shipowners, doctors, and librarians. In the 17th century, Aurelia Minerva converted the old office into a reading room; above the door was the motto „Counsel creates paths.“.
Over time, the family branches spread out to various port cities. They kept in touch through letters, joint trade fairs, and the meticulously kept archive. Thus, the fictional story of the House of Minerva tells of a family whose prestige was based not on conquests but on clever agreements, reliable bridges, and a remarkably open door.

Consul Minerva's family coat of arms
The coat of arms was further developed from the existing Minerva consul coat of arms. The crowned silver eagle, the golden city gate, and the laurel tree combine wisdom with public office and urban responsibility.
In blue, a frontal silver eagle with a golden civic crown; below it a golden city gate with a blue passage; all surrounded by a golden laurel wreath. Above the shield a golden consul crown.
Within the Minerva series, the Consul carries the most visible civilian rank insignia. Eule and Tor draw on the project's history, which focuses on mediation, contracts, ports, and urban order.
